Dark and dreamy, Zendaya’s 2024 Met Gala beauty is breathtaking. While she always pulls a look, this year’s flapper-inspired makeup and corresponding peacock dress are enough to shut down the red carpet.
In terms of makeup her, her eyes—framed by long and skinny brows—draw in all the attention. They’re encircled in a charcoal black liner that fades into a sultry plum smokey eye. Although her eyes are partially obscured by a wide net veil cascading from an intricate fascinator, the colors alone are enough to pull you in.
While the eyes might get all the attention initially, the other parts of her look are strong enough to hold their own, thanks to a cohesive color story. Her plum eyeshadow is complemented by a monochromatic blush worn high on her cheekbones and nearly black chocolate-cherry lips.
The Challengers star’s deep maroon nail polish carries the color story down to her fingertips. For an added dash of Old Hollywood glamour, she added a beauty mark on her chin. The cherry on top of the overall ensemble, though, is the campy headpiece that sits atop a clean top knot by Zendaya’s longtime hairstylist Ursula Stephen, allowing the curly tendrils framing her face to truly sing.
The warm-toned plum in Zendaya’s makeup provides a gorgeous contrast against her cool-toned blue and green Maison Margiela Couture gown. It’s not yet confirmed who the makeup artist is, but her makeup has similar vibes to the internet-breaking beauty look Pat McGrath created for Margiela’s Couture Spring 2024 show earlier this year.
